MichiganHauntedHouses.com recently sat down with Thomas Knuth of The Haunted Forest at the Adventure Park, to discuss what's new at The Haunted Forest at the Adventure Park for the 2017 Halloween Season! Located in West Bloomfield, The Haunted Forest at the Adventure Park offers an array of seasonal entertainment, both scary and family-friendly!
What's new at The Haunted Forest at the Adventure Park for 2017? Do you have any new rides, attractions, or special features that Haunt Seekers should know about?
We are including our Terror Trail option as a part of our base ticket this season. If you have the guts to go through the Terror Trail, it is free! Props and scenes have improved this season with several new themes.
What are you most excited about for the 2017 Halloween Season?
We are changing from a trick or treat for candy to a gold token system. Each station will award a gold token to all walkers. These tokens are redeemed for prizes at the end of the trail.
What differentiates The Haunted Forest at the Adventure Park from other local haunts in Michigan?
We offer Metro Detroit's best option for a charming and family friendly trail. No blood, guts or gore on our Family Trail. This event is intended to entertain kids and families. If you want more scare, then take our free Terror Trail options. It's up to you.
How long has The Haunted Forest at the Adventure Park been in business? Can you tell us a bit more about The Haunted Forest at the Adventure Park's history?
We opened our Haunted Forest in 2014 and have been upgrading and improving the event each year. We are consistently listed in the Detroit News and Free Press and one of Metro Detroit's best family attractions for Halloween fun.
What's your favorite experience since opening The Haunted Forest at the Adventure Park?
Children most often arrive in full costume and enjoy walking the trail with friends and family. Parents' hearts are filled with joy as their kid's interact with our theater actors and enjoy each show.
How long is a typical haunt experience at The Haunted Forest at the Adventure Park from start to finish?
25-30 minutes. The Terror Trail will add some time to your visit.
On a scale from 1 to 10, how scary would you say The Haunted Forest at the Adventure Park is? Why?
Our Family Trail rates a 2 as it is geared for kids and families. Our Terror Trail rates a 6-7 as it is dimly lit and surprises lurk at each turn.
Does The Haunted Forest at the Adventure Park's property have any real haunted history? Do you have a spooky encounter you'd like to share?
None that are known!
What inspired you to open up a haunted attraction? What's your favorite part of the business?
We want to provide a fun experience for the little ones. We also offer deep discounts if guests purchase our Haunt and Climb combination ticket. They can climb for two hours, then walk through the Haunted Forest.
How has new technology (i.e. animatronics, special props, etc) helped you to enhance The Haunted Forest at the Adventure Park?
Not really. We use sound, fog and performance art in our exhibits.
Can The Haunted Forest at the Adventure Park accommodate large groups? How many people can experience The Haunted Forest at the Adventure Park together as a group?

Combine our Haunted Forest ticket with a two-hour climb at a deep discount. Purchase our value pack to walk the Haunted Forest and receive a walk away ticket to return for a full three-hour climb next season. These are fabulous deals!

Tickets that are purchased are valid on any night of the performance. No appointment times to walk the Haunted Forest. Please check-in at our park store.
