Listed on the National Historic Places list, it's the third fort built in Detroit from the 17th century. The site was built in 1845 and contained barracks, officers quarters, hospital, shops, recreation building, commissary, guard house, garage, and stables.

It is haunted by soldiers. Visitors have claimed paranormal occurences like seeing and hearing doors opening and closing as well as unexplanable sounds of foot steps.

Today, it is part of the Detroit Recreation Department. Visitors can seek the help of Metro Paranormal Investigations while there and hear them explain the unexplainable.

  • Ghost walk / tour with a bit of free time for paranormal investigation

The fort has tons of history but much has been forgotten. Lived in the area all my life and didn't know it was even there! The core fort and many of the buildings remain in good shape. The guides were friendly and informative. As with any paranormal investigations there are good days and bad days. Good solid evidence of the paranormal isn't as common as TV shows would lead you to believe. We did however capture a photo of a period soldier on the ramparts as well as a shadow figure across the parade yard. It's not as active as other local spots like Eloise but well worth going. Very creepy vibes around the Indian burial mound. Be respectful. Don't provoke. Have fun!

Was there on a haunt in 2018 and was not disappointed. The EMF reader answered many questions that our group asked.

  • I was there on 2014.

My son in law and I was excited to be at Fort Wayne. They started with a little movie about Ghost and they walked as around the grounds. Then they let us free to roam where we could. A lot of buildings were lock up. Never saw or heard one thing. I had brought a Omilus 3 Ghost box, Full spectrum camera with two full spectrum lights. Recorder, laser lights. I had 4 peope with me and we stayed in one area after half the night was done. With no else around other then 4 people and it was totally dark in inside and we stayed for 2 hours. Nothing at all. Never will go back again. Sign Darryl
