Olivet College was founded in 1844. There have been countless sightings of apparitions passing through walls and objected moving on their own. The most haunted on places at the college include Shepard's Hall. Some report that phantom music could be heard in dorm rooms when it was empty. There have been accounts of these haunts going back over 150 years. The Conservatory is also where piano music can be heard playing when no one is there. The other haunted place on campus include Dole Hall where a cemetery once stood. There have been reports by people that you can feel someone is staring at you back when in the basement walking away from the laundry room. Legend has it that a few bodies were left behind when they were moving bodies to put in the new cemetery in order to make room for the growing college.
